Hi! I’m Taylor, and I’m so excited to be joining NWOCC. I am currently a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student and will be completing my practicum here. I am so grateful to work with and learn from this team and clients alike.
Life is busy, and when it becomes overwhelming, it can be challenging to prioritize yourself. Balancing multiple responsibilities, caring for others, or managing the constant pressures to keep up can come at the expense of your own wellbeing. Stress, burnout and self-doubt can become burdensome, leaving little time or space for rest and reflection.
Together, we can create meaningful shifts, helping you to reconnect with your sense of balance, confidence, and self-compassion. Throughout our journey, we will acknowledge daily stressors, identify priorities, and establish clear boundaries. Drawing from person-centered, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches, we will identify practical tools for coping, support healthy relationships, and nurture your emotional wellbeing.
I provide a warm, collaborative, non-judgemental space where you can safely explore your experiences and needs. If you’re new to therapy, I welcome you. I understand that seeking support for the first time can be intimidating, but I hope that our first interaction can ease any apprehension you may have.
I look forward to connecting with you!

I have been in the children’s mental health field since 2014 and bring experience supporting children, teens, and families in navigating life’s challenges. My play therapy practice is prescriptive and grounded in a trauma-informed framework. I like to think of my approach as having a “theory shelf” full of evidence-based practices that I thoughtfully draw from for each client. Using both a developmental and trauma-informed lens, I consider where a child or family is at and choose the approaches that best meet their needs.
With children, I draw from Child-Centered Play Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Play Therapy to help kids express themselves, process emotions, and strengthen connections at home. For teens, I primarily use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy, and with families and caregivers, I integrate Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), aspects of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, and Attachment Based Models to support healthy communication and relationships. I also infuse Polyvagal Theory - an understanding of the nervous system, into my sessions to help clients and parents make sense of behaviors and emotional responses. These frameworks not only guide my work but also help caregivers feel more confident and connected in supporting their child’s healing. I believe that healing happens through safe, attuned relationships, and that play provides children with a natural language for expression and growth.
